What’s one of the main things you’ve had to overcome in order to keep building your business? Yes! My world & routine has changed a lot in the last 12 months with my personal move back to NZ & keeping my office & small team in Australia. The main thing I have had to overcome is to be more flexible with my time and change my priorities when needed. For example, when I'm in NZ I'm very productive and don't leave my desk all day - my priority is getting as much done as possible behind the scenes to build my business from sales, designing, admin, marketing etc. It's all about the prep, planning and execution. However, when I'm in Sydney my priority is to be there for my team, attend meetings, events and photoshoots! It's much more hands-on and every day is so different. Your personal style is also one of your biggest brand assets. Does your personal brand always inform your outfit choice or is this what you naturally gravitate toward? My personal style has always been very refined, minimal and usually monochrome! Naturally, that filters through to my preference for my interiors, business and life in general! It's my signature style that makes me feel comfortable and confident, I think it's really important to own your style and do what makes you happy. My wardrobe is based on quality pieces that I can wear over and over again - it's definitely not trend driven. Think blazers, shirts, denim, tees, kitten heels, feminine dresses and other structured faves. I also love adding interest through textures too linen, silks, wool, etc. When I travel I still stay very true to my style - my go-to is usually denim, a tee, a boyfriend blazer and white sneakers - it's comfortable but still chic. Who’s been a muse or mentor through your career and why? I have had so many amazing mentors & muses in my career date. Bec + Bridge my old bosses were huge mentors to me when I worked with them for nearly 3 years, supporting and sharing their amazing business knowledge with me. Along with a lot of my friends and family who have been both muses & mentors.
