This Womans Work – Dom Gattermayr

Introducing a new series where the women who wear Harris Tapper share a week in their working life.

First, Dom Gattermayr, Chef and co-owner of Florian & Juniper, two of Melbourne's beloved neighbourhood restaurants.

What did you want to be when you grew up? An artist or a bank teller

What was your first job and how old were you? From about the age of 7 I would run the stall for my parents' bakery at the local street fair in Yarraville selling cakes and biscuits.

Dom wears the Agatha Bomber in black suiting, Irving Trouser in slate and the Gibson T-Shirt in white

What time do you wake up? 6am and if I'm lucky 7am!

What time do you start work? 7am

Describe your working week in three words? everchanging, chaotic, rewarding

Dom wears the Bea Top and Pike Trouser
Dom wears the Hoppen Cardigan in sterling and Fold Mini

What part of the work you do makes you smile? The people I get to work with!

What cities has your work taken you to? Hong Kong and New York City with some more in the pipeline...

What is your favourite project you’ve worked on? I really loved working with Chandon in the Yarra Valley on the matched food for their launch of a limited-edition sparkling wine.

What advice would you give to your 21 year old self? You really haven't seen it all, this is only the beginning.

If you could have someone else’s job, what would it be? Running cooking classes or residencies somewhere amazing in the world!
